Mission Statement
This research website honors the late Dorothy Durkin (1945 - 2010) whose passion for seeking new horizons in the field of marketing continuing education generated this mission statement. Were it not for her tenacity to constantly seek out new and innovative marketing practices, NYU-SCPS research would not have existed.
We conduct research because it is the foundation from which we develop marketing initiatives and programmatic direction. Our mission is about:
- Diligently practicing meaningful observation of emerging conditions in the marketplace
- Establishing clear goals and objectives, and meaningful adjustment of processes in response to new learning
- Exploring alternative approaches for reaching beyond the boundaries of our strategic alliances
- Acknowledging that the market will continuously have unmet learning needs not reflected in formats and levels of our products and services, leaving gaps in our educational pathways
